Tehran's different neighborhood for senior citizens

One of the most vibrant neighborhoods in the Iranian capital city of Tehran leaves no senior citizens alone.

Residents of Tehran’s Amir-Abad neighborhood know their neighbors quite well and help each other to live a happier life together.

Senior citizens have open houses in this neighborhood and younger residents meet at their homes to avoid loneliness.

They actively participate in various community programs in this neighborhood and are happy about it.

Several senior citizens are regulars in the programs, cooking food, baking sweets and entertaining the guests of this neighborhood on different occasions.

Sometimes they sell their handicrafts in markets that they set up by themselves and even earn a small income.

A distinct program in this neighborhood entails riding the "joyful bus" through the streets of Amir-Abad with moms and their children on board.

Passengers on the bus can enjoy listening to upbeat children's songs, creating memorial moments while traveling along this wonderful neighborhood of Tehran.
